BNP Joint Secretary General Syed Emran Saleh Prince said, Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman took initiatives to preserve, practise and develop sports, culture, and religious values, which helped save the nation from social degradation and immorality.
He made the remarks while addressing the closing and prize distribution ceremony of the Mymensingh divisional "Zia Cricket Tournament-2024" as the chief guest at the Circuit House Ground in Mymensingh on Friday afternoon.
Earlier in the morning, BNP Organising Secretary Shariful Alam inaugurated the tournament.
Addressing the event, Prince highlighted BNP’s commitment to fostering mental and cultural growth alongside political rights.
He said, “BNP is a multifaceted political party, actively engaging not only in politics but also in sports, culture, socio-economic development, and humanitarian services.”
Prince added that BNP, under the leadership of its acting chairman Tarique Rahman, would follow in Ziaur Rahman’s footsteps if entrusted with governing the country.
“We will revitalise sports and culture from rural villages to urban areas, creating a surge of youthful energy and inspiration,” he added.
