Barrister Zaima Rahman, the only daughter of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, has reached Washington DC to attend the 'National Prayer Breakfast' event in the United States on behalf of her father.
She reached Washington DC on Tuesday from London, said a press release on Wednesday.
Zaima Rahman is the granddaughter of the proclaimer of the great independence, one of the sector commanders of the Liberation War and Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
Besides, on January 10, a delegation of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) was also invited to join the National Prayer Breakfast event.
The invitees are BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury. They left Dhaka on February 2 for the USA to attend the event.
The event is scheduled to be held in the Washington DC on February 5 and 6. Members of congress and senate will join the function while US President Donald Trump will address it.
The National Prayer Breakfast Foundation organizes the annual event where dignitaries from different countries around the world are assembled regardless of political differences and pray for world peace and humanity.
