Popular singers Pritom Hasan and Xefer Rahman, who have previously collaborated on music, are set to share the screen together for the first time.
Both artistes have established themselves as actors. Renowned director Shihab Shaheen has brought them together in his upcoming web film “Tumi Ami Shudhu”, which is scheduled for release on 14 April on an OTT platform, marking the occasion of the Bengali New Year.
The shooting of “Tumi Ami Shudhu” was completed nearly a year ago but faced delays due to technical issues. After overcoming various complications, the film is finally set for release.
Speaking about the story, Shihab Shaheen said, “The film revolves around a young woman’s sense of free will. The protagonist prioritises her own desires and strives to shape her life independently. However, her pursuit of freedom leads to complications, around which the narrative unfolds. At its core, the film also explores a romantic relationship, offering audiences a fresh take on a love story.”
Although this marks the first on-screen pairing of Pritom and Xefer, both have previously worked with Shaheen.
Sharing his experience of working with the duo, Shaheen said both performers have proven their acting abilities.
He praised Pritom’s versatility and highlighted Xefer’s sincerity and dedication, expressing optimism that audiences will appreciate their pairing.
The web film also stars Manas Banerjee, Samu Chowdhury, Munmun Ahmed and Abdullah Al Sentu, among others. In addition to directing, Shihab Shaheen has written the story and screenplay of the film.
The web film will be released on OTT platform Binge.
