Misha Sawdagar and Monowar Hossain Dipjol were elected president and general secretary respectively of the Bangladesh Film Artistes’ Association (BFAA) for the next two years.
Voting in the election was held on Friday at Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) premises in Dhaka.
Chief Election Commissioner Khorshed Alam Khasru declared the election results around 6:45 am on Saturday.
Misha secured 265 votes beating Mahmud Koli by 95 votes. Dipjol bagged 225 votes and got elected beating actress Nipun Akter who secured 209 votes.
Among the other posts, Masum Pervez Rubel and D A Tayeb were elected vice presidents jointly with 231 and 234 votes respectively.
Arman will serve as Assistant General Secretary with 237 votes while Joy Chowdhury occupied the Organizing Secretary post with 255 votes.
Alexander Bow secured the international affairs secretary post with 295 votes while Jacky Alamgir won the office and publicity secretary with 245 votes.
Mamnun Hasan Imon became Culture and Sports Secretary while Komol won Treasurer post.
Sucharita, Rozina, Ali Raj, Subrata, Dilara Yesmin, Shahnoor, Nana Shah, Ratna Kabir and Chunnu from the Misha-Dipjol panel, and Riyana Pervin Poli and Soni Rahman from the Koli-Nipun panel won as executive members.
A total of 475 voters out of 570 cast their votes this year.
