Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said that action will definitely be taken if there is irregularity or corruption in any development work of the government.
He said this after inspecting the site designated for the university in Jamalpur Union of Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila on Wednesday morning.
The minister said that agricultural land is decreasing day by day in Bangladesh, which is not good for the country. For this reason, we will try to do development work by considering all aspects.
He also said, “I have always said that development should be done without destroying agricultural land as much as possible. We will give importance to the construction of high-rise buildings. However, the government must take the matter into consideration so that there is no negative impact on agriculture.”
The deputy commissioner, superintendent of police and other officials of various departments were present during the inspection. Later, the minister inspected several other development work sites in the district.
