Social Welfare, Women and Children Affairs Minister Prof Dr AZM Zahid Hossain has said that the government’s main goal is to transform the country’s population into skilled human resources through education and moral development.
He made the remarks while addressing a cheque distribution programme for destitute, helpless, sick and specially-abled people, as well as poor students, at the Ghoraghat Upazila Parishad auditorium in Dinajpur on Tuesday afternoon.
The minister said that increasing the number of good people in society would reduce injustice and help build a humane Bangladesh.
“If a good person possesses proper knowledge and skills, there is no reason for him or her to fall behind,” he said.
“We want good people and quality education. Through education, we want to transform every boy and girl into skilled manpower,” he added.
Dr AZM Zahid Hossain further said that the current government, under the leadership of Tarique Rahman, is working to turn the country’s population into valuable human resources.
“If good people remain in leadership and the number of honest and responsible citizens increases in society, injustice will decline and a humane Bangladesh will emerge,” he said.
