Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku has said that Hasina government left 56 thousand crore taka in arrears in the power sector alone. For this, the government is under a lot of pressure. Every day, creditors are pressuring for the arrears.
He said this while speaking as the chief guest in a view-exchange meeting with the heads of primary, secondary and higher secondary educational institutions in Sirajganj district organized by the district administration at the Shaheed Shamsuddin Conference Room on Tuesday afternoon.
He told the teachers that the work you do is not paid work. The salary is to run the family. But the main goal is to prepare your people. You often go to Shaheed Minar and Press Club and make protest. If you do not do well in the results, then at some point the government will not be forced to accept your demands.
He said, “We want quality, not quantity. You will produce 10 talented boys, who can compete anywhere in Bangladesh. But if you produce 50, none of them will be able to compete - there is no point in doing that. You can if you want. Prepare other people's children the way you think about your own child's future. Then our country will be able to move forward. Otherwise, the country will not be able to move forward if the situation is the same as it is now.
He said, there is a lot of difference between the BUET students of our time and the BUET students of today.
Under the chairmanship of deputy commissioner Aminul Islam, additional superintendent of police Nazran Rouf, district BNP general secretary Saidur Rahman Bachchu and heads of various educational institutions among others spoke at the event.
