Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md. Sakhawat Hossain has said that the previous fascist government siphoned off crores of Taka in the name of quick rental.
He said, “The Awami League government has looted a lot. The current government has stopped all these irregularities and corruption. We are going for solar power. In the next few months, 1300 megawatts of electricity will come from our Rooppur Nuclear Power Project. This will continue and won’t stop."
He said this at a program to provide humanitarian assistance from the Prime Minister's Relief Fund to the needy and helpless on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha at the Belabo Upazila Parishad auditorium in Narsingdi on Tuesday afternoon.
The Health Minister said, “People need to be more aware to achieve electricity efficiency. You can do small solar power on the roofs of your houses and rooftops wherever you can. Don't impose everything on the government. We are taking up projects to generate electricity from the wind. The country will become self-sufficient in electricity in the next five years.”
The Health Minister further said, “A plan of taking project of several thousand crores of Taka has been taken for Narsingdi district. In the next five years, not even an inch of the road in the beautiful Belabo will remain unpaved.”
He also said that one lakh health workers will be recruited in July. Out of them 80 thousand female health workers will be recruited.
The function was presided over by Belabo Upazila executive officer Umme Hafsa Nadia, and political leaders including Belabo Upazila assistant commissioner (Land) Aziz Sartaj Zayed, Upazila BNP convener Ahsan Habib Biplob and OC SM Amanul were present at the function.
