BNP central leader and former minister Advocate M Ruhul Quddus Talukder Dulu said, “No extortion in the name of workers will take place in Natore. Those who have used workers in the past to extort should be warned. The days of sharing workers' money themselves are over. The real workers, the oppressed and the poor deserve it. They will get this money.”
Dulu said this while speaking as the chief guest at the function to provide grants on death and marriage to workers in Natore on Saturday.
On Saturday, around 12 noon, in front of the Boro Harishpur Workers' Union office in Natore city, the Natore District Transport Workers' Union organized a function to provide 100 deceased drivers and driver's assistants with Tk 12,500 each at the time of death and 400 families with Tk 3,000 each at the time of marriage.
Natore District BNP convener Rahim Newaz, member secretary Asaduzzaman Asad, District Sramik Dal president Abu Raihan Bhulu, Natore District Transport Sramik Union acting president Shafiqul Islam Bulbul, acting general secretary Abdul Majid and leaders of the Sramik Union were present as special guests at the event. Later in the afternoon, Ruhul Quddus Talukder Dulu spoke as the chief guest at the Iftar Mahfil of the United Press Club in Natore under the chairmanship of Club president Nasim Uddin Nasim.
