The interim government will recognize those killed in the July-August anti-dictatorship uprising as 'July Martyrs' and those injured as 'July Fighters'.
The state will call them by this name. Their names have already been listed. In addition, the martyrs' families can get a one-time Tk 30 lakh and a monthly allowance of Tk 20,000 in March.
This information was shared by the Chief Advisor's press secretary Shafiqul Alam at a press conference held at the Foreign Service Academy auditorium in the capital on Thursday.
The press secretary said that able-bodied family members of those killed in the uprising will get priority in government and semi-government jobs. The injured will get three categories of medical treatment and benefits.
The Chief Advisor's press wing said that these decisions were taken at a meeting held at the Chief Advisor's office on February 9 and 24.
Shafiqul Alam said, “The list of 834 martyrs of July has already been published in the gazette. Each martyr's family will receive a one-time payment of Tk 30 lakh. Of this, Tk 10 lakh will be given through the National Savings Certificate in the 2024-2025 fiscal year, and the remaining Tk 20 lakh will be given through the July 2025 National Savings Certificate in the 2025-2026 fiscal year. In addition, the martyr's family will be given an allowance of Tk 20 thousand every month.
The injured July warriors will receive treatment in three categories, namely, Category A, B and C.
