Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (Retd.) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury conducted surprise inspections of police patrol operations Wednesday morning, reports UNB.
He made the surprise inspection as an effort to ensure public safety and maintain law and order in the Dhaka metropolitan area.
During the inspections, the adviser visited several key locations and intersections where police and other law enforcement agencies had set up coordinated checkpoints.
He also toured multiple police stations across the city.
Setting off from his residence in DOHS, Baridhara, the adviser travelled through Banani Mor, Bijoy Sarani (near Novo Theatre), Manik Mia Avenue, Kalabagan and Eden College before reaching New Market Police Station.
From there, he proceeded to Shahbagh Mor, Matsya Bhaban, Moghbazar, Hatirjheel, Police Plaza and Gulshan Police Station.
Following his visit to Gulshan, he returned home via United Hospital, also inspecting some nearby alleyways along the way.
During his visits to the police stations and checkpoints, the adviser talked to on-duty law enforcement personnel, offering necessary directives.
He also instructed security forces across the capital and the country to remain on high alert in maintaining law and order.
