Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury warned on Tuesday that no leniency will be shown to any member of the security forces found negligent in the ongoing operation to curb theft, robbery, and snatching.
He said these words after laying wreaths at the graves of martyred military officers and members at Peelkhana in the military cemetery in Banani on the occasion of Army Martyrs Day.
When asked about the overall situation in the country, the operation that began last night, and its success, the Home Affairs Adviser said, “You (journalists) will evaluate the success or failure. The way I have organized this operation, if there is negligence among any of my employees or members of any of my forces, I will bring them under the law.”
He said that no one will be spared here, be it police, BGB, RAB, Ansar or prison department. If they do not work properly, we will bring them under the law.
Asked to know the latest update on the operation, the adviser said, “I was thinking, you will give the update. You present the true news. Let's see if we take action or not. After the news was published against the two SPs, we have taken action. We will definitely take action based on the true news.”
