Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said the activities of the law enforcement agencies will be visible from Monday night.
Stating that the law and order situation is satisfactory, the Home Affairs Advisor said that there is scope for improving the law and order situation.
The Banasree incident might take two days to find out earlier; however, now the incident is known immediately, he said.
He told this to reporters after the core committee meeting at the conference room of the Home Ministry at the Secretariat on Monday afternoon.
He said, “Minor incidents have always happened before, even a day or two ago. However, there was a discussion on what measures can be taken to prevent it from happening again in the future. We do not want such an incident to happen. Tonight, you will see that the activities of the law enforcement agencies have increased a lot.”
The Home Affairs Advisor said the overall law and order situation was discussed today. Many instructions were given in this meeting. In these 53 years after independence, no journalist has written that the law and order situation is very good. I myself used to be a journalist. I was once in the Morning News. We also never wrote in such tone.
Regarding the shooting of the gold merchant in Banasree, he said, “If the incident in Banasree on Sunday had happened earlier, it would have taken two days for everyone to know about it. But now the incident is being known immediately. That is why many people may think the law and order situation may be in big trouble.”
