The Anti-Discrimination Student Movement (ADSM) is set to launch a new political student organisation by Friday, possibly beginning their journey at Dhaka University's Madhur Canteen on Thursday or Friday.
Multiple organisers of the anti-discrimination student movement shared this information with The Daily Sun.
The name of the organisation has not yet been finalised. However, urgent discussions are ongoing in this regard.
Among the proposed names are Mukti O Ganatantra Chhatra Sangha, Bangladesh Chhatra Sandhi, Bangladesh Ganatantrik Chhatra Kantha, and Biplobi Chhatra Shakti.
According to sources, coordinator Abdul Kader is expected to assume the role of central convener while Abu Baker Majumder will serve as the Dhaka University convener.
In addition, Tahmid Al Mudassir Chowdhury, Hasan Enam, Zahid Hasan, Rifat Rashid, Hasib Al Islam, Rejwan Ahmed Rifat, and MA Sayed are likely to hold key positions within the organisation.
Coordinator Abdul Kader said that they have already gathered feedback from over 10,000 students, both online and offline, through an opinion poll aimed at forming the student body.
He added that a new student organisation will be established based on the students' input.
"The time has come to eliminate the fear surrounding student politics," he said, adding,"The perception shaped by subservient politics must be transformed."
