Night and day temperatures may drop by 1-2 degrees Celsius in the next 24 hours. At the same time, there is a possibility of light to moderate fog across the country from late night to dawn.
This information has been shared in the weather forecast for the next 72 hours released by the Meteorological Department on Friday morning.
The forecast says about the synoptic conditions, the extension of the sub-continental high pressure area located up to the western part of West Bengal and adjacent Bangladesh. The normal low pressure of the season is located in the south Bay of Bengal.
Due to this reason, the weather across the country may remain dry with temporarily partly cloudy skies for the next 72 hours (3 days).
However, light to moderate fog may fall across the country from 9 am on Saturday (February 8) until dawn in the next 24 hours. The night and day temperatures across the country may remain almost unchanged on that day.
There is a possibility of fog on Sunday (February 9). Light to moderate fog may fall across the country until dawn on that day too. However, the Meteorological Department has also said that night and day temperatures may increase slightly across the country.
