Foreign Affairs Adviser Touhid Hossain has claimed that it was Sheikh Hasina's relentless statements from India that provoked students and the public into protests and vandalism. He made this claim today, Thursday.
“Bangladesh has repeatedly requested the Indian government to restrain Sheikh Hasina from making statements. Dhaka is observing what Delhi is doing. Yesterday, the army was present during the vandalism and attempted to stop it,” said Touhid Hossain
Regarding the agreement with Adani, he stated, “It is not a good deal. The country's interests were given less priority. Over the past six months, Bangladesh’s diplomatic relationship with India has been uneasy.”
The Foreign Affairs Adviser further stated that Pakistan’s Foreign Minister is scheduled to visit Dhaka by April.
He added, “Dhaka wants to maintain good relations with Pakistan to maximize its benefits.”
Earlier, in protest against Sheikh Hasina’s statements from India, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the acting Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka and handed over a protest note.
