Local people vandalized and set fire to the house of former Member of Parliament for the Bhola-1 constituency Tofail Ahmed.
A protest procession of about 300 people reached Tofail Ahmed’s residence at 12.45 am, where protesters first carried out acts of vandalism before setting the house on fire.
At that time, the crowd took out the various furniture inside the residence and brought it to the road and set it on fire. At the same time, they set fire to the second floor and ground floor of the residence. Fires were seen burning inside and outside the residence till 2 am.
