‘Build strength rather breaking idols to counter enemy’
Advised Mahfuj Alam

Adviser Mahfuj Alam has emphasized on establishing counter ideals, strength and hegemony other than vandalizing the idols.

He made the statement on his verified Facebook account on Wednesday night.

In the status titled “do we have the strength to create?” he wrote: “We are confronting regional and global hegemony. Not just some idols or buildings.”

“Instead of breaking idols, we should build counter-ideals, strength and hegemony to counter the power of our enemies,” he continued, adding that they should move away from destructive programs.

“League or Hasina are nothing in that sense, but rather an extension of regional hegemony,” he added. And, regional hegemony is created through realistic state imagination, creating skilled human resources in the country and the diaspora, and strengthening state institutions. “Our counter-hegemony also depends on these three things.”

“After the destruction, there is an opportunity to build, but the endless destruction project does not indicate a good future for us. The reconstruction projects will start and be implemented very soon. You should be active in the work of building.”

He further wrote: “The implementation of the proposals of the Reform Commission will start soon. The rehabilitation of the families of the injured and the deceased and the trial of the July massacre are also underway. These works will gain further momentum this month.”

The adviser said: “The abolition of the fascist system is not just about destruction, but also about the struggle to build an alternative. In the new settlement, we want to give importance to building rather than destroying.”

“Regional hegemony will be responsible for all the political instability caused by the propaganda of the murderer Hasina and its response. That is why we should develop creative power and take a far-sighted approach to confront this hegemony in general, instead of reacting. Because the fight has just begun. At least, a resolution to this fight may come after a decade. However, our preparation for that is minimal,” the post continues.

Mahfuj Alam wrote: “Anger, resentment, hatred are negative energies, but after the coup, we had an opportunity to transform these energies into positive ones. That opportunity has not been lost yet. We need to use our creative power for a long democratic and anti-hegemonic fight that will last at least a decade.”

He said that the history has given them a chance and they want to win this time. Building a state plan, strong institutions, skilled and dignified human resources- he finds as the way to win.  \

May Allah save us from “Farasat”, he continued.
