Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said let the genocide must be trialed first, and then the people will decide whether the Awami League (AL) has the right to politics.
He said this while speaking as the chief guest at the district and metropolitan activists' conference at the central Hemayet Uddin Eidgah in Barisal on Tuesday afternoon.
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, “Awami League is not a political party; they were demons of power. Every member of the genocide party will be trialed. No more fascism will be able to raise its head in this country. The war is not over yet, the war has started now. The activists should be ready. Today, the people of Bangladesh do not want discrimination.”
He also said isolated areas should be brought under communication. We want to see Barisal division as developed. We want to do all development work on the basis of justice and priority.
The conference, chaired by Metropolitan Jamaat Ameer Zahir Uddin Muhammad Babar, was attended by central assistant secretary general Rafiqul Islam Khan, Abdul Halim, Muazzin Hossain Helal, district ameer Abdul Jabbar, and the father of Faisal Ahmed Shanta, a martyr in the anti-discrimination student movement, among others.
