Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, addressed the challenges faced by Islami Chhatra Shibir at a branch leadership workshop. Speaking as the chief guest on January 20 at Shaheed Abdul Malek Auditorium, he emphasized that for over 15 years, false propaganda was used to portray the student organization negatively. Activities on campuses, including islamic educational entities, were obstructed, and members were detained from mosques, homes, and educational institutions. Despite these adversities, he asserted that Chhatra Shibir has persevered and earned the trust and admiration of students as a beacon of character and academic excellence.
The workshop, conducted by Secretary General Nurul Islam Saddam and Central President Zahidul Islam, was held nationwide. Dr. Shafiq called upon Chhatra Shibir to focus on character development alongside education and research, a responsibility he deemed unmatched by other organizations. He urged members to utilize the trust and love they’ve gained from students to enhance their mission, especially in a favorable environment.
Zahidul Islam echoed this sentiment, urging members to embrace their duties with dedication. Referring to Surah Ahzab of the holy Quran (72nd verse), he reminded members of their significant responsibility, likening it to a divine trust that must be honored with unwavering commitment.
