The Election Commission (EC) has directed field officers to ensure the continued provision of National Identity Card (NID) services.
The directive has been sent to field officers by Md. Nashir Uddin Chowdhury, Senior Assistant Secretary of the Election Commission's Election Assistance Branch.
The directive outlines that, in accordance with the Voter List Rules, 2012, the revising authority is continuing its work on claims, objections, and corrections related to the draft voter list published on January 2.
The house-to-house updating of the voter list is also ongoing.
In parallel, the Commission has directed that the processes for new voter registration, data uploads, and National Identity Card corrections be maintained for individuals requiring these services for overseas travel or urgent matters, as stipulated under Section 15 of the Voter List Act, 2009.
The Commission urges the relevant Registration Officers to ensure the smooth continuation of these activities.
