Dr. Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin, former Member of Parliament for Dhaka-7 Constituency and President of the Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA), has been arrested by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
Mohiuddin, who is facing multiple charges, including murder, was taken into custody on Monday morning in connection with the anti-discrimination student movement. The police action was carried out based on specific intelligence and information gathered during an investigation.
According to DMP Deputy Police Commissioner Muhammad Talebur Rahman, Mohiuddin was arrested from his residence in Mansurabad Housing Society, Mohammadpur, in the capital. Legal proceedings are currently underway against the former lawmaker.
Mohiuddin’s arrest comes amid ongoing investigations into his alleged involvement in criminal activities. Authorities are continuing their efforts to address the charges against him.
