Emphasizing the constant security of the borders, Home Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury stated, "The country's borders are safe and will remain so, even at the cost of blood. No one can harm us. As long as we are alive, no one can breach our borders. Blood will spill, but the borders will remain secure."
He also said, “Discussion is going on between BGB and BSF. The dispute over harvesting paddy and cutting trees at the Chapainawabganj border will be resolved through dialogue between both sides.”
The Home Adviser made these remarks on Sunday while attending the certificate distribution ceremony of the 137th Survey and Settlement Training Course (2024-25) for officials of BCS cadres (Administration, Police, Forest, and Railways) and the Bangladesh Judicial Service.
He further said, "The previous government was lenient in some matters, but now we are standing firm to protect our rights, which is causing minor issues. However, a resolution is expected at the DG-level meeting scheduled for February."
Highlighting corruption as Bangladesh's primary issue, Jahangir Alam stated, "The country cannot progress without preventing corruption.”
He also requested the audience present at the ceremony to hand over those who try to use their connections for personal gains to law enforcement.
