Agriculture Adviser Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury on Tuesday announced taking strict action against creating an artificial crisis of fertiliser, reiterating that there is no scarcity of fertiliser in the country.
"The message for the farmers is that there is no crisis of fertiliser (in the country). If anyone tries to create an artificial crisis of the fertiliser, they will have to face the consequences," he said.
He made the remarks after attending a view exchange meeting with divisional officers in Mymensingh district.
The home adviser said that dealers found involved in creating an artificial fertiliser crisis will have their dealership cancelled starting next month.
"In no way, they will be spared," he warned.
The adviser assured the farmers of getting fertiliser on time. "Farmers must get the fertiliser at a fair price," he added.
