The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) procession has obtained phone call records of Sheikh Hasina and others in alleged genocide during the mass uprising of July-August last year.
Prosecutors have also uncovered crucial evidence related to forced disappearances during the same period, prosecutors said during a press briefing at the International Crimes Tribunal on Monday.
Prosecutor Tanvir Hasan Joha said in a press briefing: “Important information and evidence of the disappearance have been found. All kinds of arrangements were made to hide the evidence of the killings.”
The ICT has ordered the CID to conduct a forensic examination of call records obtained of Sheikh Hasina and others during the July-August massacre. The tribunal, headed by the chairman Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mozumder, gave the order on Monday.
Prosecutor BM Sultan Mahmud said in this regard: “The tribunal has ordered forensic examination to verify the authenticity of important call records of Sheikh Hasina and others involved in the July-August massacre, obtained from online platforms and various sources.”
However, the prosecutors have accused various agencies of non-cooperation in providing information to the tribunal.
