Dr Faham Abdus Salam, eminent writer, critique and son-in-law of Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, has shared fresh information about the “Sheikh Family” on Monday.
He shared the information on his verified Facebook account where he shared information about Dr MA Wazed Miah, Saima Wazed Putul and Tulip Siddiq.
The jaw-dropping pieces of information he shared is- Sheikh Hasina’s husband Dr Wazed Miah once wanted to join Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) but Khaleda Zia stopped him from doing so.
Mr Faham’s post reads: “During her [Sheikh Hasina] first term as Prime Minister, Wazed Miah was imprisoned in CMH. He was so angry that when BNP came to power in 2001, he wanted to join BNP.”
“You will be surprised to know that Khaleda Zia stopped him. She forbade Wazed Miah from joining BNP because she did not want to bring family bitterness into the political arena. There was once such decency in Bangladeshi politics,” the post furthered.
He also wrote: “Sajeeb Wazed Joy killed someone by driving drunk near the BRAC building in Mohakhali in 1993/94. I heard this part from one of the most famous journalists in Bangladesh and a completely unrelated Chhatra League leader at the time who was close to Joy [the two are not related]. It was Khaleda who helped send Joy to America at that time [I heard the second part only from that journalist].”
