Police constable Sujan Hossain has been shown arrested in a case of crimes against humanity related to the killing of five people by gunfire at Chankharpul in the capital on August 5. On Sunday, the International Crimes Tribunal, led by its chairman Justice Md. Golam Mortuza Majumder, issued the order.
Earlier in the day, police constable Sujan Hossain was presented before the International Crimes Tribunal in connection with the case. The tribunal had issued an arrest warrant against Sujan Hossain on January 1 in the crimes against humanity case involving the killing of five people at Chankharpul.
The order was issued by the tribunal chaired by Justice Md. Golam Mortuza Majumder. Prosecutor BM Sultan Mahmud represented the prosecution during the hearing, while no lawyer was present to represent Sujan Hossain.
It is noteworthy that on August 5, around 11 AM, Sujan Hossain was seen firing at students and civilians near Burhanuddin Post Graduate College at Chankharpul. Videos of the incident have since gone viral on social media.
