Attorney General Md Asaduzzaman said that everything has been done for the trial of the July-August mass killing. The Office of the Attorney General (AG) will assist with the trial if needed.
Asaduzzaman the remarks while briefing journalists at International Crimes Tribunal on Tuesday.
Earlier in the day, Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed inaugurated the main building of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT).
He said how the students were killed during the last July-August uprising shows that there is an element of crime against humanity here. As the massacre took place in July-August, the murders will now be tried here.
In response to a question, the attorney general said that the trial would be conducted following international norms at ICT. It will be ensured that there will be no debate about this trial.
While answering another question, Asaduzzaman said steps have been taken to ensure justice.
“I hope that justice will be done.”
Chief Prosecutor Tajul Islam, among others, was present at that time.
