Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) director general Akhter Hossain said former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her other partymen will be summoned to give them a chance to defend themselves in corruption allegations. And if they do not appear, action will be taken as per rules.
He said this while talking to reporters at the ACC office in Segun Bagicha of the capital on Monday.
Meanwhile, the ACC has filed a case against former NBR member Matiur Rahman, who was involved in the highly-controversial goat case, along with his wife, son and daughter. Earlier, the ACC had filed two cases against him.
In addition, a case was filed on Monday against former Natore-2 MP Shafiqul Islam Shimul for an unusual transaction of Tk 15 crore. Again, the ACC has filed a case against former Chittagong-16 constituency MP Mostafizur Rahman Chowdhury and his wife for an unusual transaction of Tk 22 crore.
Director general Akhter Hossain also said that the ACC has launched an investigation against former MP from Chapainawabganj-3 constituency Abdul Odud Biswas on allegations of tender rigging and bribery.
