Zonayed Saki, the chief coordinator of the Ganosamhoti Andolon, said the elections is needed to complete and finalize fundamental structural changes including the constitution.
“We all will have to discuss what fundamental changes will be made in the next parliament,” he said.
He said this at a public dialogue titled 'Towards the establishment of a new democratic political settlement' at the National Press Club auditorium on Saturday afternoon. The dialogue was organized by the Mass Solidarity Movement Dhaka Metropolitan North-South.
Zonayed Saki said, “The next election will be an election to create a new democratic political settlement. Therefore, reforms must be carried out for that election. We all have to create unity to create a reform meeting. We call on the people of the country to establish unity to establish their rights.”
He also said that immediate medical treatment must be ensured for the fighters injured in the mass uprising. The government must take responsibility for the families of the martyrs and give the martyrs state honor.
“At the same time, I will say that people are being harassed by the price hike of commodities. The rise in prices of goods must be controlled. The security of people's lives is being disrupted in various ways. The law and order situation is deteriorating in various ways. No law and order force has been able to provide security to the people. However, accountability in every sector must be ensured,” he added.
