BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman said the autocracy killed 2,000 people before Sheikh Hasina fled the country, made 30,000 people bleed, but Bangladesh freed from autocracy and now a big war awaits us.
He said this while virtually participating in the ceremony to hand over the keys of a newly built house to the family of Golam Rabbani, who was killed at the Dubachuri Madrasa ground in Laxmichapa Union of Nilphamari District Sadar on Monday afternoon.
At the same time, he also said that the time has come to implement the movements that political parties have been struggling for a long time.
“People have various problems. An elected government is needed to solve these problems. For this, a government must be formed through elections,” he said.
Tarique Rahman said, “BNP has announced 31 points to build a Bangladesh of equality. The coming days are for building the country. To build this country, we must unite regardless of party affiliations. BNP is the party of the people; so it wants to come to power with the support of people. Without the support of the people, BNP will not be able to move forward. The people are the main strength of BNP.”
He said, "We have been protesting with the support of the people to remove the tyrannical government. BNP has always played a leading role in working for the country and the people. BNP will continue to work for the development of the country and to build a happy and prosperous country for the people in the coming days. BNP leaders and activists are also working towards that goal.”
At the event, BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi handed over the keys of the house built at a cost of six lakh taka to the family of Shaheed Golam Rabbani, the organizing secretary of Lakshmichap Union BNP, who was killed in the crossfire of RAB in January 2014.
