The high-level investigation committee formed to investigate the fire incident at the Secretariat, the heart of the administration, was supposed to be submitted the initial investigation report on Monday. However, it has been postponed by a day. The report will be submitted to the Chief Advisor on Tuesday.
Senior Secretary of the Home Ministry and head of the investigation committee Nasimul Gani, told this to the reporters on Monday afternoon.
The senior secretary said that the initial investigation report on the fire incident will not be submitted today, but tomorrow. The samples collected in the incident will also be sent abroad for testing.
Earlier, at a news briefing in front of the State Guest House Jamuna on Sunday afternoon, deputy press secretary to the Chief Advisor, Abul Kalam Azad Majumdar, had said that the investigation report will be submitted to the Chief Advisor on Monday.
A terrible fire broke out in Building No. 7 of the Secretariat late last Wednesday (December 25). The 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th floors of the building were damaged. Of these, the 8th and 9th floors were damaged the most, with most of the documents there burned.
The government formed an eight-member high-level investigation committee led by Home Ministry senior secretary Nasimul Gani on Thursday to investigate the incident. The committee was asked to find out the cause and source of the fire and submit a preliminary investigation report within three days.
