BNP Vice Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu said there is a conspiracy going on in the country and to save the country from this conspiracy, we have to be more careful.
BNP can protect the country's democracy, independence and sovereignty, he affirmed.
He said this at a civic rally in front of the National Press Club in the capital on Monday.
Shamsuzzaman Dudu said, “Everyone knows that there is no alternative to elections for the transition to democracy. Some quarters want to block the elections and take the country on a different path. Some want to form a party and come to power. We have no objection to anyone who can form a party and vote. But we have an objection if someone from a special circle wants to seize power by forming a party.”
The former parliamentarian said, “What started with 1/11 to destroy BNP, some signs of that are now still visible. Martyr President Ziaur Rahman established democracy in Bangladesh. National leader Begum Khaleda Zia took that democracy forward by overthrowing dictator Ershad. The possibility of re-establishing democracy in Bangladesh has emerged under the leadership of Tarique Rahman. This opportunity cannot be wasted in any way.”
He said, “If BNP is brought to power, it will be able to establish democracy in the country. BNP can break the market syndicate and bring daily necessities within the purchasing power of the people. BNP can protect the independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh. BNP knows how to stand by the poor people. You will see this in the future under the leadership of Tarique Rahman.”
