Leaders of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami held a significant meeting with the Malaysian Islamic political party, Parti Islam Se-Malaysia (PAS), on Sunday morning. The meeting, led by Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, included Assistant Secretary General Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan and AHM Hamidur Rahman Azad.
The delegation met with PAS President Tuan Haji Abdul Hadi Awang in a cordial and collaborative atmosphere. According to a Facebook post by PAS Central Executive Committee member Dr. Muhammad Khalil Abdul Hadi, the meeting highlighted the shared objectives of both Islamic movements, focusing on establishing justice and ensuring the welfare of the Muslim Ummah.
During the discussions, the Jamaat delegation sought advice from Haji Abdul Hadi on navigating the ongoing political changes in Bangladesh. Haji Abdul Hadi emphasized the importance of patience, knowledge, and building strong relationships with the people of Bangladesh to sustain the Islamic political struggle.
The Jamaat leaders expressed gratitude for the valuable guidance and support, acknowledging the constructive role of PAS in fostering unity and progress among Islamic movements. Both parties discussed mutual interests, emphasizing the importance of strengthening ties between Bangladesh and Malaysia for the welfare of their nations and the global Muslim community.
The meeting followed Jamaat-e-Islami’s participation in the Fifth Asia Pacific Regional Conference 2024, held at the International Institute of Advanced Islamic Studies (IAIS) in Malaysia. This event provided an additional platform for collaboration and the exchange of ideas on advancing Islamic governance and development.
The discussions concluded with mutual hopes for the continued progress and prosperity of both nations and the global Muslim Ummah.
