Professor Rehman Sobhan has said that the country’s major political parties are undemocratic, as all power is centralized at the top level of these parties.
The prominent economist made those remarks on Saturday while addressing a program held at a hotel in Dhaka.
He said: “The last three elections were flawed and the lawmakers acted as mere rubber stamps.”
Country’s one of the vital thinkers said: “The local government system has been rendered dysfunctional, while lawmakers have become landlords in their respective areas.”
