The Ministry of Home Affairs has banned the activities of the followers of Maulana Saad Kandlavi at the Kakrail Mosque in Dhaka, reports UNB.

Besides, the government imposed restrictions on large gatherings of the supporters of another faction of Tabligh Jamaat Maulana Zubair near the mosque.

The order will be effective from Friday until further notice, the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs said in a notice on Thursday.

Earlier on Dec 18, four people were killed and 40 others injured in a clash between two factions of Tabligh Jamaat at the Biswa Ijtema ground in Tongi over control of the venue.

A case was filed in connection with the violent clashes.
