A section of women's football players are uneasy again after Peter Butler came to Dhaka for the second term as the coach of the women's football team. The old conflict has come to the fore again and has taken a serious shape. This evening, almost all the senior women footballers at the BFF building told the media in unison, "We will not practice under this coach. If this coach is there, we will leave with honor."
The women's football players-coach conflict was under discussion since Wednesday. The women footballers have not officially opened up about the conflict until now. This evening, they came to the BFF building in unison and raised their problems with the coaches. They gave a three-page statement to the media. In it, they highlighted their various disagreements with the coach.
All the important players of the national team, captain Sabina, defender Masura, Shiuli Azim, midfielder Sanjida, Maria, forward Krishna, Shamsunnahar, Tahura, along with rising star Sagarika Sathi Nasrin Swarna were also there. In total, about 15 footballers have taken a public stand against the coach under the BFF building.
There are 31 contracted players of the BFF in the senior women's team camp. Among them, Anai Mughini did not join. Out of 30, 15 have taken a stand against the coach. Before coming there, the players have been practicing under the coach by saying 'yes' or 'no'. There are only a few juniors and rising players there.
The women footballers had been informing Mahfuza Akhter Kiron, the head of the women's wing, before the SAFF. Former president Kazi Salauddin also knew about the matter. They are very disappointed that the coach was appointed without solving the problem after the SAFF,
'They did not discuss it with us at all. We play on the field,' said defender Masura.
They regretted that the issue was not resolved even after discussions with the head of the BFF women's wing. That is why the women footballers now want to meet the BFF president. The women footballers are looking at BFF president Tabith Awal. If the BFF president is also in Peter's favor, they won’t keep themselves away from to resign.
Incidentally, the conflict between the senior footballer and British coach Peter Butler came publicly during the SAFF tournament in Kathmandu, Nepal. The crisis did not come to the fore again right then due to the joy of becoming the SAFF champion. The BFF has signed a two-year contract with Peter Butler. He came last Monday night with the responsibility of his second term. Since then, a new crisis has arisen.
