A Dhaka court framed charges against former president of Dhaka City South Jubo League Ismail Hossain Chowdhury Samrat and his associate and fellow party leader Enamul Haque Arman in a narcotics case filed with the city's Ramna Police Station.
The court also issued arrest warrant against the duo, cancelling their bail and time petitions in the case.
Judge Mohammad Saifur Rahman Majumder of Dhaka 7th Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court passed the order after a hearing on the matters on Thursday.
The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Samrat and Arman from a village in Cumilla's Chauddagram upazila on October 6, 2019 in connection with the case.
On October 7, 2019, Deputy Assistant Director of RAB-1 Abdul Khaleq filed a case against them under the Arms Act, 1878 and the Narcotics Control Act, 2018.
RAB on December 9, 2020, submitted charge sheet against them in the case.
