The government has taken three decisions on the application of quota system in the admissions to educational institutions and employment.
These decisions were taken at a meeting of the Advisory Council of the interim government on Thursday.
The meeting was presided over by Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus at the office of the Chief Advisor in Tejgaon.
The meeting discussed the issue of admission of students in the 5 percent seats reserved for children of freedom fighters, martyred freedom fighters and freedom fighters in government and private medical colleges, dental colleges and units in the 2024-25 academic year.
The decisions of the meeting are-
1. According to the discussions of the Advisory Council meeting, the Health Education and Family Welfare Department, Law and Justice Department, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Liberation War Affairs will take necessary actions in this regard.
2. The Ministry of Public Administration will present a summary with opinions or recommendations on the application of the quota system in the current context in recruitment to government jobs.
3. The Department of Secondary and Higher Education will present a summary, including opinions or recommendations, on the application of the quota system in the current context of admission to educational institutions at the meeting of the Advisory Council.
