The date for BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia’s trip abroad for advanced medical treatment is set to be finalized soon. If all goes as planned, the former Prime Minister will travel to London in the first half of January.
Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain, her personal physician and a member of the BNP standing committee, confirmed the news to the media yesterday (Dec 25), noting that the exact date has yet to be determined.
Begum Khaleda Zia was initially scheduled to attend Jatiyatabadi Muktijoddha Dal's Rally on Dec 21, but the event was postponed due to her health condition.
According to BNP sources, a 15-member delegation, including seven doctors, will accompany the former Prime Minister for her medical treatment. The team will consist of her late son Arafat Rahman Koko's wife, Syeda Sharmila Rahman, her personal physician Dr AZM Zahid Hossain, Dr Md Enamul Haque Chowdhury, Tabith Awal, Fakhruddin Mohammad Siddiqui, Md. Shahabuddin Talukder, Nuruddin Ahmad, Md. Zakir Iqbal, Mohammad Al Mamun, Sharifa Karim Swarna, her personal officer ABM Abdus Sattar, Md. Masudur Rahman, SM Parvez, Fatema Begum, and Rupa Sikder.
