Home Adviser Lt Gen (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said a probe committee will be formed to investigate the fire incident at the Bangladesh Secretariat.
He came up with the information while briefing journalists in front of the Secretariat at 9:00 am on Thursday.
The committee may comprise 5 to 11 members, said the adviser.
Housing and Public Works Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan was also present at this time.
Earlier, a fire broke out at Building 7 of the Secretariat in the capital at 1:52 am on early Thursday.
On information, 19 firefighting units rushed to the spot and doused the fire at 8:05 am.
