Gazipur's Safari Park opened again under a new name after remained closed for three months and ten days. The park has been renamed as Safari Park, Gazipur.
Earlier, it was Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park, Gazipur.
The park opened at around 9am on Friday (November 15).
Gazipur Safari Park Officer-in-Charge Rafiqul Islam confirmed the matter and said, “The Gazipur Safari Park has been closed for an indefinite period since the fall of the government on August 5. At that time, the park was extensively vandalized. After being closed for three months and ten days, the park was opened for visitors at 9 am on Friday. However, the park has been renamed as Safari Park, Gazipur.”
He also said that the entrance fee of the park is Tk 50 per person. 20 to 30 visitors entered the park in about an hour after it opens in the morning. Many people do not know that the park has been opened as it has been closed for a long time. Publicizing the opening of the park will also increase the number of visitors.
In this safari park, there are various types of animals including tigers, bears, lions, and different species of deer, monkeys, giraffes, zebras, snakes, crocodiles, elephants, peacocks and different types of birds.
