Marking Awami League (AL) as the most extremist and terrorist organization in Bangladesh, Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman said there was no bigger terrorist group than AL in the country.
He said, “AL has created hammer and helmet wielding group called Chatra League. AL Leader Obaidul Quader boasts of them and felt fake pride. But, they violated the human rights and didn’t value the people as human. Where are they now? They have to pay for their crimes now.”
He said this in his speech as the chief guest at the Dhaka Metropolitan North Annual Member Conference (Rukon) 2024 held at China Friendship Conference Center in the capital on Sunday morning.
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, “Awami League has to face the justice; so the July-August killings should be tried quickly with the law made by them."
Jamaat-e-Islami will not take any revenge, the party Amir said, adding that he also promising to give justice to every victim of oppression.
He said, "After the revolution, Jamaat workers did not extort or occupy. Instead, they stand by the side of people.”
Stating that he wants to build national unity with everyone, Shafiqur Rahman said, "I am calling on everyone, including civil society and journalists, to work together to build a country free from discrimination and corruption."
