Police have arrested three persons for their alleged involvement in a snatching incident in Tanti Bazar Puja Mandop area in the city, reports BSS.
Three persons were arrested for their involvement in a snatching incident in Tanti Bazar Puja Mandop area here Friday night, said Md Talebur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Media and Public Relations of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) today.
Five persons injured in stabbing by the snatchers were also admitted to the Sir Salimullah Medical College and Mitford Hospital, he said.
Police said a gang tried to snatch a gold chain of a female devotee behind the Puja Mandop in city's Tanti Bazar area at about 8pm on Friday.
Five devotees were injured by the indiscriminate stabbing of the snatchers as people rushed to the area hearing screams of the devotee.
Among the injured, some got hurt in hand, some in throat and some in chest.
Later, police arrested the three snatchers with the help of local people, Rahman said.
Legal measures are underway against the arrested persons.
