A murder case was filed against 36 people, including ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, former minister Obaidul Quader, former MP AKM Shamim Osman, for killing a man named Badiuzzaman during the anti-discrimination student movement in Chashara area of the district, reports BSS.
The victim's wife Aduri Khatun filed the murder case as the plaintiff at the Narayanganj Sadar Model Police Station.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Narayanganj Sadar Model Police Station Nazrul Islam confirmed the matter.
The other accused are - Shamim Osman's son Ayan Osman, Shamim Osman's nephew Ajmeri Osman, Narayanganj city Awami League Organizing Secretary Zakirul Alam Bhuiyan Helal and Narayanganj city Jubo League President Shahadat Hossain Sajnu.
According to the FIR, a group of AL leaders and activists on August 5 attacked the students of anti-discrimination student movement in front of the gate of Shaheed Minar of Chashara area in the city. The attackers hurled cocktails and beating them with sharp weapons which injured Badiuzzaman.
Later, Badiuzzaman was taken to a hospital where on-duty doctor declared him dead.
