Chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunal Tajul Islam, said that the trial of the mass killing at Uttara, Jatrabari and Ashulia in the capital centered around the anti-discrimination student movement across the country will be conducted first.
Tajul Islam said this in a press conference at the International Criminal Tribunal on Tuesday afternoon.
Tajul Islam said that the trial of the genocide organized in July and August will come first. The priority is the trial of the murders of Abu Saeed of Rangpur and Mugdha took place in Uttara. The trial will be conducted in such a way that there is no opportunity to raise any questions about this trial at home and abroad.
The Chief Prosecutor said, “Many people were martyred while making the revolution, many lost their limbs. So the nation has a responsibility towards them. It is very important that the information comes to the investigation agency and the prosecution in order to speed up the trial. Our investigation agency has to find out the facts of that crime.”
He said that despite the trial, no one from the whole world can say that the trial was conducted through an illegal process as we’ve seen before. That is why I am now requesting the government to reconstitute the tribunal as soon as possible.
