A court here on Monday placed former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun on a three-day remand in connection with a case lodged over the murder of garment worker Fazlul Karim during the July-August mass uprising, reports BSS.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Arifur Rahman passed the order as police produced the former IGP before the court and pleaded to place him on a 10-day remand in the case.
Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun was arrested on September 3.
Fazlul Karim got shot on August 5 as he was taking part in the anti-discrimination movement in the Uttara area. He was rushed to Kuwait Bangladesh Friendship Government Hospital. Fazlul Karim later died from his injuries.
His brother filed the case against 40 people in this regard.
