Death threat to PM: BNP leader Chand held

Law enforcers have arrested Rajshahi BNP Convener Abu Sayeed Chand for issuing death threat to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina recently.

Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) Commissioner Anisur Rahman confirmed the arrest on Thursday.

Sources said a team of police apprehended him at a check-post at Beripara area in Rajshahi metropolitan city around 10:30 am.

Addressing a rally of BNP at Rajshahi on Friday, Chand threatened to send Sheikh Hasina to graveyard. 

He made such statement at a public rally of metropolitan and district BNP at Shibpur High School ground in Puthia upazila of Rajshahi recently.
