Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami, expressed concern over the incident in which a truck collided with a private car in the convoy of Hasnat Abdullah, convener of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, and Sarjis Alam, general secretary of the July Martyrs Memorial Foundation.
He expressed his concern in a Facebook post on Wednesday night.
He wrote, "A truck collided with the private car carrying Hasnat Abdullah and Sarjis Alam! Was it an attempted murder or simply a tragic accident? This certainly needs to be thoroughly investigated. The situation is indeed concerning."
Earlier on Wednesday, around 7:30 pm, a truck collided with a vehicle in the convoy of Hasnat Abdullah, and Sarjis Alam in Lohagara, Chattogram.
Chattogram Police's Additional SP (DB) Rasel confirmed that Hasnat Abdullah and Sarjis Alam are both in good health.
The truck driver was arrested in connection with the incident, he added.
