Motorcycles can ply over the much-hyped Padma Bridge from April 20 next.
The authority has taken the decision considering a hassle-free Eid journey which is a long-standing demand of the bikers.
Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader made the announcement on Tuesday.
He said motorcycles can run over the Padma Bridge at a speed of 60 kilometres per hour. If bikers violate the rule, then plying motorcycles could be stopped again.
Earlier, immediately after the inauguration of the Padma Bridge, the government banned motorcycles from plying over the bridge after a tragic accident which claimed two lives on the bridge.
